Black Ice

AVG. Rating 4.0

I am a HUGE fan of AC/DC and loved every album up to Razor’s Edge and AC/DC Live. That being said, I was HUGELY disappointed with Ballbreaker and Stiff Upper Lip (if you take the few decent tracks off those two albums and combine them, you have half of one decent CD). Black Ice, on the other hand, is a return to what makes these guys so much fun. They’ve always had one or two hit songs off each album that make it to radio play for a little while, but what’s always been great is that you can listen to most of their CDs from start to finish and it’s just one great song after another. Black Ice has that feel once again. My only complaint is that it’s 15 tracks long and only about 11 are truly worthy of being on the CD. But that’s still pretty decent. My favorite tracks are Rock ‘N Roll Train, Skys on Fire, Anything Goes, and War Machine.

10th out of 10 – Gerald G. Grafstrom – Lake Alfred, FL
I’m a pretty big AC-DC fan. I wouldn’t call them my top group, but I do own 10 albums by them and 3 DVDs. I have to say this is the least favorite of the 10 I own. I can’t really pick any song I like other than maybe Rock N’ Roll Train. Maybe I haven’t given it enough time, but I find it hard to even remember most of the songs. I have over 8000 songs in my music collection. This CD is so full of forgettable tunes it gets little air play. You might say with such a large collection it’s not fair to rate this based on how often I want to play it, but other recent release purchases by artists as varied as Ozzie or Meat Loaf get played and re-played as well as older AC-DC albums I’ve had for years. If I was to do an AC-DC’s geatest hits CD choosing from the 10 albums I own, I’m not sure anything from this album would even make the cut. If you’re a big fan and have the money to spend, add it to your collection. If you’re a casual or new fan, don’t judge the group by this offering.

Ac/Dc Black Ice – Raul Rosa Martinez –
Black Ice, after a long time, this band make a appear nuevamente to show us a good album after all. Good rymthm on this album, Angus and Malcolm did a great work on guitar. The best songs on this album are: ROCK & ROLL TRAIN, BIG JACK, WAR MACHINE, SMASH & GRAB, SPOILIN FOR A FIGHT, DECIBEL, ROCK & ROLL DREAM, of course BLACK ICE.

Buy it, is a good decision, but I still only give 3 star to it. Sorry Angus!

ACDC sells out to the corporate “war machine”…. – sean – MA, USA
ACDC have sold out completely. All they’re doing now is releasing repeat albums with different names and movie soundtracks and wal-mart merchandise. Seriously, Wal-mart teaming up with ACDC? Are they that desperate for money? When Back In Black is the #2 best selling album worldwide next to MJ’s Thriller? and what’s up with itunes, they won’t put their catalog on there or make a proper greatest hits anthology album either.

“For those about to rock, Wal-mart salutes you!”
